Marion Nickig

born in 1955 in Essen/Germany, studied graphic design under legendary German Professor Willy Fleckhaus at the Folkwang School Essen and University GHS in Essen and Wuppertal.

She developed a special interest in photographing plants and gardens during a study visit to Tuscany, Italy.

Starting with features in German 'FAZ Magazine' in 1981, she regularly contributes her pictures to various renowned gardening and lifestyle magazines both in Germany and abroad as well as publishing books, calendars and postcards. Also, she has lately started to show her photographs in different exhibitions.

Marion Nickig has to be considered a pioneer of German garden photography, introducing a unique style, combining sensitivity and botanical know-how with a distinctive interest in the chosen subject.
